Some old email systems are incapable of receiving or sending binary attachments. Binary attachments are files in non-text form, which include archive files and executable programs. To help in transmitting binary data through these email systems, ways of representing binary data in text form are available. The UU-Mime tool helps you convert binary files to plain text form and back.
To use the UU-Mime tool:
Run the UU-Mime tool using the Start menu.
Click Browse and select the file to convert. You are not limited to archive files, you may choose any file you wish.
Specify whether you wish to convert to plain text form, or back.
Select the type of encoding to use. If you are converting to plain text form, choose one of UU or Mime. If you are converting from plain text form to binary, you must select the appropriate encoding method used while creating the plain text form.
Click Save As and choose where to save your converted output file.
Check Open file after conversion if you wish to automatically view the converted file using its supporting application once the conversion is complete.
Click OK to convert.
